1. Introduction

CareBridge Academy is committed to promoting equality, diversity, inclusion and fairness across all aspects of its services, training provision, workshops, employability programmes and online learning activities. We are committed to creating a respectful, inclusive and supportive environment where all individuals are treated with dignity, professionalism and respect regardless of their background, identity or personal circumstances.

CareBridge Academy recognises the importance of equality and inclusion in education, employability and professional development and is committed to ensuring that discrimination, harassment, victimisation or unfair treatment are not tolerated within any aspect of the organisation.

This policy has been developed in line with the Equality Act 2010 and reflects CareBridge Academy’s commitment to maintaining accessible, inclusive and equitable learning opportunities.

2. Equality Act 2010 Commitment

CareBridge Academy is committed to complying with the principles and requirements of the Equality Act 2010. We aim to ensure that individuals are not treated less favourably due to protected characteristics including:

  • Marriage or civil partnership

  • Pregnancy or maternity

  • Race

  • Religion or belief

3. Commitment to Inclusion and Respect

CareBridge Academy values diversity and recognises that individuals come from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and personal circumstances. We believe diversity strengthens learning environments and contributes positively to learner engagement, confidence and participation.

All learners, participants, parents, visitors and individuals engaging with CareBridge Academy services are expected to behave respectfully and professionally at all times.

Discriminatory behaviour, harassment, bullying, intimidation, victimisation, hate-related behaviour or inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated and may result in removal from services or further action where appropriate.


4. Accessible and Inclusive Learning

As an online training provider, CareBridge Academy is committed to providing accessible and flexible learning opportunities wherever reasonably practicable.

We recognise that learners may have differing:

  • Learning needs

  • Communication preferences

  • Accessibility requirements

  • Personal circumstances

  • Confidence levels

  • Educational backgrounds

CareBridge Academy aims to provide supportive and inclusive learning experiences that encourage participation and reduce unnecessary barriers to learning.

Where reasonably possible and proportionate, CareBridge Academy will consider requests for reasonable adjustments to support accessibility and participation.

This may include:

  • Additional support or guidance

  • Flexible communication methods

  • Additional time where appropriate

  • Alternative learning arrangements where reasonably practicable

  • Supportive approaches to participation and engagement

  • Signposting to additional support services where appropriate

CareBridge Academy will make reasonable efforts to support accessibility within the scope of services and systems available.


5. Third-Party Learning Platforms and Materials

CareBridge Academy may utilise third-party online learning systems, platforms or course providers as part of its training delivery. Whilst reasonable efforts are made to select appropriate and accessible systems, certain technical or platform-based accessibility features may remain outside the direct control of CareBridge Academy.

Where learners experience accessibility difficulties or barriers relating to external learning materials or platforms, CareBridge Academy encourages individuals to make contact so that reasonable support, guidance or alternative arrangements may be considered where practicable.

CareBridge Academy remains committed to reviewing accessibility concerns fairly and proportionately.


6. Learner Responsibilities

Learners and participants are expected to:

  • Treat others fairly and respectfully

  • Maintain professional and appropriate conduct

  • Refrain from discriminatory, abusive or inappropriate behaviour

  • Contribute positively towards an inclusive learning environment

  • Raise concerns appropriately where issues arise

Failure to maintain respectful conduct may result in action being taken in accordance with organisational procedures and terms of participation.


7. Reporting Concerns

Individuals who experience or witness discrimination, harassment, bullying or inappropriate conduct are encouraged to raise concerns with CareBridge Academy as soon as possible.

8. Monitoring and Continuous Improvement

CareBridge Academy is committed to continually reviewing and improving equality, diversity and inclusion practices to ensure inclusive approaches remain embedded throughout organisational activities.

This may include reviewing:

  • Learning accessibility

  • Communication approaches

  • Learner feedback

  • Organisational practices

  • Training materials

  • Online learning systems

  • Policy and procedural updates

CareBridge Academy remains committed to promoting inclusive participation, reducing barriers to learning and supporting positive learner experiences.


9. Policy Review

CareBridge Academy reserves the right to review, amend or update this Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy periodically to reflect:

  • Legislative changes

  • Equality and accessibility guidance

  • Organisational developments

  • Operational requirements

  • Service expansion
